Get to Know Kalani Thornton, DDS

Dr. Thornton loves being able to help people feel comfortable and confident in the dental office and be educated on their oral health. She strives to create a positive experience for those who struggle with dental apprehension, removing every barrier between someone and the healthy, attractive smile they deserve.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

After shadowing both medical and dental professionals while in school, Dr. Thornton knew that dentistry was the right place for her. It would allow her to provide long-term routine care to patients and families, from the young to the elderly, creating lasting, meaningful relationships that just aren’t possible in other fields.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Thornton attended Texas State University before going on to earn her DDS from the Baylor College of Dentistry. Since finishing school, she has maintained her education, completing advanced courses on cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and dental materials. She is also certified to offer nitrous oxide/Level 1 sedation and is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Fort Worth Dental Society.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Thornton and her husband, Cole, have two daughters. When she isn’t taking care of patients or spending quality time with family, she’s an avid reader who never shies away from a good book.

Fun fact: Throughout elementary and middle school, Dr. Thornton was a member of a competitive jump rope team that traveled to Disney World for nationals each year, where they set a national record. She also got to compete at a world championship in Cape Town, South Africa.
