Root Canal Treatment Whitney

Saving Your Tooth from Frustrating Pain

Although many people fear the words “root canal,” the procedure is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, it can save a natural tooth that would otherwise need to be removed. When a tooth suffers decay or damage extensive enough to reach the nerve in its center, it can create a monstrous toothache. Root canal treatment removes the infected parts of your tooth, seals off the inner chamber, and restores the tooth with a dental crown. If you’ve been dealing with tooth pain, don’t wait to let us know—contact our office to schedule your appointment.

What Happens During a Root Canal?

After thoroughly numbing the area to ensure your complete comfort, we will carefully remove the infected or inflamed pulp from the center of the tooth, which is the soft tissue containing nerves and blood vessels that can become damaged due to deep decay, a crack, or trauma. The interior of the tooth is then cleaned, shaped, and sealed to prevent reinfection. In most cases, a crown is placed over the treated tooth shortly after to restore its full strength and function.
